System Engineering

I build the services that move data between business systems: marketplace order and stock sync, Microsoft 365 and device-management collectors, and internal tools for warehouse, HR and sales teams. Nearly seven years of Go, PHP, Python and Node.js, plus the Docker, Kubernetes and AWS work that keeps them running.

About

Most of my work sits between systems. At PT Enseval Putera Megatrading Tbk, a distributor of pharmaceutical, consumer and medical products, I connected the company's accounts on Shopee, Lazada, Blibli, TikTok Shop and Tokopedia to its internal systems, so orders flowed in and stock levels flowed out through REST APIs instead of manual entry.

When I moved into server administration there, I kept writing software. Instead of checking the Office 365, MobileIron and AirWatch admin portals one by one, I wrote Python collectors that pull their APIs on a schedule into PostgreSQL and built Tableau dashboards on top, all running on a MicroK8s cluster.

Before that I spent four years building Laravel and PHP applications: warehouse, HR and safety systems for a packaging manufacturer, a career-management API for a software consultancy, and e-commerce sites for retail clients. I hold a D4 (applied bachelor's) degree in Internet Engineering Technology from Universitas Gadjah Mada.

AI agents are part of how I work. I use Claude Code, Codex and Hermes to write and refactor code faster, to handle routine jobs such as server resource-usage reports, and to build applications end to end: I write the PRD, let the agent work through it, then review, test and deploy the result myself.

How I work

  1. Connect systems through their APIs

If two systems hold the same data, a person should not be retyping it. I prefer a service that talks to each side's API and keeps them in step.

Where it shows: Marketplace order and stock sync, LDAP login, Microsoft Graph collectors

  2. Script the second repetition

Admin tasks that happen every week end up as a script with validation and a log, so the result is the same no matter who runs it.

Where it shows: Shared-mailbox and bulk-contact scripts, n8n workflows

  3. Make the system show its own state

Services I run get metrics, logs and a dashboard someone actually checks, so problems show up before a user reports them.

Where it shows: Prometheus, Grafana and Loki on MicroK8s; Tableau IT dashboards

  4. Own the path to production

Code is finished when it runs in production. I package services in containers and deploy them to Kubernetes or AWS myself.

Where it shows: Docker, MicroK8s, GitLab CI, AWS

  5. Let AI agents do the legwork

I hand repetitive coding, daily reports and first drafts of whole applications to AI agents, working from a PRD I write. I stay responsible for the design, the review and what reaches production.

Where it shows: Claude Code, Codex, Hermes; server resource-usage reports; apps built from PRD to deployment

    • Developed and maintained the company's warehouse management system (WMS), which takes up most of my work in this role.
    • Built the delivery note (surat jalan) and disposal memo features, so goods leaving the warehouse and items marked for disposal are documented in the system.
    • Built barcode label printing for items, racks and storage locations, used to identify goods and where they are kept in the warehouse.
    • Built production reports based on material usage, stock reports and other warehouse reports from the WMS data.
    • Returned to the company four years after my first role there, again working on its warehouse system in PHP.

    • Wrote scheduled Python collectors that call the Microsoft Graph, VMware, AirWave, Ivanti MobileIron and Workspace ONE (AirWatch) APIs on a fixed interval and store the results in PostgreSQL. The collectors and the database run as isolated services on a MicroK8s cluster in production.
    • Built Tableau dashboards for the IT team: Office 365 user activity and licences per domain, company and department; Mailbox, OneDrive and SharePoint storage; BitLocker encryption status per laptop; and MDM enrollment, installed apps and devices that have not synced for more than three days.
    • Automated Office 365 administration with two scripts: a PowerShell script for Exchange Online that creates a shared mailbox and adds the requested users, and a PHP script that reads an Excel file, validates each row and updates contact fields through Microsoft Graph, logging every change.
    • Built an activity-log application in Laravel 12 and PostgreSQL where branch IT staff record their daily work, with login through the company's LDAP API, role-based access for head-office admins, and a chatbot (n8n and the Gemini API) that turns an admin's question into a database query.
    • Administered the on-premise VMware server environment, Office 365 email, Active Directory user accounts and company mobile devices managed through MDM.

    • Integrated the company's marketplace accounts (Shopee, Lazada, Blibli, TikTok Shop, Tokopedia, and JD.id until it closed) with internal systems through REST APIs, covering the whole path from incoming orders to product stock updates.
    • Built and maintained the integration services in Go, Python (Django) and Node.js (Express.js).
    • Worked in the team that built a stem cell and secretome ordering system for Bifarma (Kalbe Group). I wrote the Go backend for its approval workflow, which takes each order from sales through the sales manager, PPIC, warehouse and courier to customer confirmation.

IT operations monitoring pipeline

Scheduled collectors that turn four separate admin portals into one PostgreSQL store and a set of Tableau dashboards.

Problem

Licence, device and security status lived in separate admin portals: Microsoft 365, Ivanti MobileIron and VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch). Answering simple questions, such as which laptops are not encrypted or which devices stopped syncing, meant opening each portal by hand.

Approach

  • Python schedulers call the Microsoft Graph, MobileIron and Workspace ONE UEM APIs on a fixed interval and write the results to PostgreSQL.
  • The collectors and the database run as isolated services on a MicroK8s cluster in production.
  • Tableau dashboards cover Office 365 user activity and licences per domain, company and department; Mailbox, OneDrive and SharePoint storage; BitLocker status per laptop; MDM enrollment, installed apps and devices not synced for more than three days.

My part

Built the API collectors, the PostgreSQL storage and the Tableau dashboards.

Outcome

IT teams monitor device enrollment, compliance and licence usage from dashboards instead of logging in to each MDM and Microsoft 365 portal.

IT activity log with a natural-language query bot

A Laravel app where branch IT teams log their daily work, plus a chatbot that turns an admin's question into a PostgreSQL query.

Problem

The head-office IT team had no shared view of what branch IT staff worked on each day, and pulling answers from the data required someone to write queries.

Approach

  • Laravel 12 and PostgreSQL application with login through the company's LDAP API and role-based access for head-office admins and branch users.
  • Real-time monitoring dashboard for head office, with periodic reports generated automatically.
  • An n8n workflow passes the admin's question to the Gemini API, which converts it into a PostgreSQL query, for example "which users have not filled in today's log?"

Stem cell & secretome ordering system

An end-to-end order workflow for Bifarma's sales team that replaced a manual process.

Problem

Orders for stem cell and secretome products passed through sales, management, production planning, warehouse and courier, and the handoffs were tracked manually.

Approach

  • Go backend with a React frontend and PostgreSQL, deployed on AWS with MicroK8s.
  • Each order moves through explicit approval states, so every team sees where an order is and who acted on it last.

My part

Team project. I worked on the Go backend.

Office 365 admin automation

Two scripts that replace repetitive clicks in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  • PowerShell script for Exchange Online that creates a shared mailbox and adds the requested users, giving staff up to 50 GB of extra mail storage without another licence.
  • PHP script that reads an Excel file, validates each row and updates contact fields (phone, title, department, location) through Microsoft Graph, with a log of every change.

Outcome: Shared-mailbox setup takes under a minute instead of two to five minutes by hand (candidate-reported).
